Classic Greek Yogurt Dessert

A Greek yogurt parfait is a delightful and healthy breakfast or snack option that combines creamy Greek yogurt with layers of fresh fruits, nuts, granola, and honey. It's not only delicious but also packed with protein, probiotics, and nutrients. Here's how to make it:

Ingredients: 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or flavored) 1/2 cup granola (homemade or store-bought) 1 cup mixed fresh fruits (such as berries, sliced bananas, kiwi, or mango) 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or pecans) 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional) Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions: Prepare the Ingredients: Wash and prepare the fresh fruits. If using berries, you can leave them whole or slice larger fruits like bananas or kiwi. Chop the nuts if they're not already chopped.  Measure out the Greek yogurt and granola.

Layer the Ingredients: Start by spooning a layer of Greek yogurt into the bottom of a serving glass or bowl. You can use plain Greek yogurt or flavored Greek yogurt of your choice. Add a layer of granola on top of the yogurt. This adds crunch and texture to the parfait. Next, add a layer of mixed fresh fruits on top of the granola. You can alternate between different fruits or use a combination of your favorites.

Sprinkle a layer of chopped nuts over the fruit layer. Nuts add extra protein, healthy fats, and crunch to the parfait. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glass, finishing with a layer of Greek yogurt on top.

Drizzle with Honey (Optional): If you prefer your parfait to be sweeter, drizzle a little honey or maple syrup over the top layer of Greek yogurt. This is optional and can be adjusted based on your taste preferences.

Garnish and Serve: Garnish the parfait with a sprig of fresh mint leaves for a pop of color and added freshness. Serve the Greek yogurt parfait immediately as a delicious and nutritious breakfast, snack, or dessert option.

Feel free to customize your Greek yogurt parfait with your favorite ingredients. You can add layers of dried fruits, coconut flakes, chia seeds, or even a dollop of nut butter for extra flavor and nutrition. Make sure to use thick and creamy Greek yogurt for the best texture and flavor. You can use plain Greek yogurt or flavored varieties such as vanilla or honey.

To make your parfait even more indulgent, you can layer it with crumbled cookies, chocolate chips, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Greek yogurt parfaits can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving. Just hold off on adding the granola until just before serving to keep it crunchy.

Enjoy this refreshing and satisfying Greek yogurt parfait as a nutritious start to your day or a tasty snack any time!
