Electric Jeep Recon 2024

Electric vehicles have invaded full-size pickup trucks, station wagons, and luxury SUVs, but the 2024 Jeep Recon EV will crawl rocks.

The four-wheel-drive Recon EV, inspired by the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid, is a fully electric mid-size SUV with power-folding roof and removable doors. Only the Ford Bronco has such tricks, besides the Wrangler.

The initial photographs show a tailgate-mounded spare tire, but price, range, battery size, and power output are unknown.

However, an illuminated seven-slot front grille, beefy BFGoodrich T/A rubber, and five-person seating on rubberized flooring are seen.

This page will be updated as our Jeep Recon spy operation progresses. We await the 2024 Recon EV production date.

The Recon EV will join the Wagoneer EV as one of two new Jeep electric models. As a mid-size SUV, the Jeep Recon EV should be similar in dimensions to the Jeep Wrangler or two-row Grand Cherokee. Jeep claims Recon EV reservations will open in early 2023 and production will begin in 2024.

The 2024 Jeep Recon EV will cost between $60,000 and $79,000, depending on trim and options.

We expect the Recon EV to cost more than the gasoline-powered Wrangler, though Jeep hasn't announced its price. Given its potential off-road prowess, the Recon EV may follow the Wrangler's trim hierarchy, starting with Sport and rising in price and luxury to Sahara High Altitude. This story will be updated with Recon EV pricing and features.
